Google Analytics Data Not Used for Ranking
Google has definitively stated since 2017 that it does NOT use Google Analytics data for ranking or in the algorithm. Matt Cutts said as far back as 2010 that using or not using Google Analytics had no effect on your ranking, and the Webspam team and Quality ratings did not use it. Why have so many myths been perpetuated by SEOs, insisting that GA data is used? Perhaps because those numbers were there, and people are searching for a correlation between hard data and rankings. Google has a practical reason for not using Google Analytics for ranking purposes: over half the websites on Earth do not use Google Analytics! Relying on website owners to install this code would result in huge gaps of data for ranking if it was leveraged as a dependency.
