If you are seriously interested in publishing a book, I would emphatically direct you towards 1106 Design which is a publishing company run out of Arizona. I am an author who has published two books with their help in the last two years. My first book in 2020 "Organic Tales From Indian Kitchens" was a memoir/recipe book and it has been extremely well received.

The next book published in 2021 "It's Hard To Run In A Sari", was a romantic novel/social commentary set in 1950s India-a Hindu Muslim love story. Although the genre of both books were very different from each other, the editors and design staff at 1106 Design were able to handle it effortlessly. Obviously, they have a lot of experience behind their logo, and the team will work with you and make sure that you meet all your targets.

Each author's vision is different and so are the time and financial constraints. The 1106 team has been superb. "Spontaneous Tourism" is CrystalOrb's first book. We'd originally planned to go with [the printer] for everything we needed-cover, interior, indexing, etc. but encountered delays and poor communication with the PM assigned to us there, so we decided to look elsewhere once the cover was done.

Michele was one of several people I contacted, and she immediately impressed me with her attention to detail and prompt responses to questions.

She loved the manuscript, but I sent a copy of the cover that we'd been provided and she gently advised me that we'd be doing ourselves a huge disservice if we used it because it screamed self-published. So her team drafted three new concepts and when I saw them, I decided to drop [the printer's] cover entirely and start over with 1106 doing everything.

Throughout the whole process, Michele and her team were responsive and energetic. They met tight timelines, kept me fully informed, turned things around faster than I thought possible, and exerted gentle pressure whenever I wanted something that their experience suggested wouldn't be to the book's benefit. It's a testament to their skill that Spontaneous Tourism has been picked up by both Midpoint Trade Books and Quality Books, Inc. for distribution.

In short, I can't say enough good things about 1106 Design.
